Seahawks Fans Irate Over Team Having Back-To-Back Thursday Games in 2023

As NFL fans finally learned of their team’s full 2023 schedule on Thursday, the big reveal drew a contentious reaction from Seahawks fans over a notably tough stretch of games scheduled for the final seven weeks of the season.

Seattle, the NFC’s No. 7 seed in 2022, will enter the pivotal final month of the campaign facing a brutal Week 11 to Week 13 schedule. After facing the Rams on the road on Nov. 19, the Seahawks will play back-to-back Thursday night games, first against the visiting 49ers in a primetime Thanksgiving Day matchup on Nov. 23 followed by the Cowboys in a Nov. 30 matchup in Dallas on Thursday Night Football.

Much to chagrin of the 12s, the news confirmed a rumor previously circulated by Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett earlier in the day. The veteran wideout shared a tweet revealing the club is scheduled to play three games in 12 days, including consecutive TNF games, this upcoming season according to his “sources”–a presumed nod to the tagged handle of teammate and safety Quandre Diggs.

“According to my sources Seahawks have back to back Thursday games. 3 games in 12 days! @qdiggs6,“ wrote Lockett.

With their team’s whirlwind 12-day schedule officially confirmed, Seahawks fans now have a better idea of how their team earned the No. 1 spot on a Thursday report concerning every team’s expected travel mileage this upcoming season.

According to ESPN, Seattle will travel a total of 31,600 miles for their games this fall and winter, the most in the NFL. The Seahawks will be the only team set to top the 30K-mile mark, with the 49ers and Seahawks rounding out the top three with 29,958 and 27,110 miles, respectively.

While the daunting stretch may still be months away, the Seahawks fanbase still had plenty to say about their team’s unlucky draw. Check below for the best reactions of the bunch:
