MLB Fan, Dad Makes One-Handed Snag on Home Run Ball While Holding Baby

The top of the second inning on Friday night's showdown between the Twins and Tigers offered up one of the best highlights of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. However, the impressive feat was made by a dad in the stands, not one of the players on the field.

With the game scoreless, Minnesota third baseman Royce Lewis sent the first pitch of the inning offered by Tigers pitcher Joey Wentz high and deep down the left field line several rows over the 342-foot mark.

As Lewis’s fourth home run of the season reached the seats, a man adorned with a straw hat holding a kid in his left arm caught the ball barehanded with his right hand. After making the incredible grab, his wife took the child from his arms so the dad could enjoy the round of applause from the fans.

Minnesota’s young infielder is now hitting .324 with four home runs and 13 RBIs in 19 games with the club.

The Twins would add two more runs in the inning, staking Kenta Maeda to 3–0 lead as he strives to earn his first win of the season. Through four starts, the veteran right-hander has posted a dismal 0–4 record with a 9.00 ERA heading into Friday night’s start.
