NBA and NHL fans were in for an epic yet unexpectedly hilarious moment to remember this week courtesy of a collab involving Connor Bedard and Victor Wembanyama.
The top picks in their respective 2023 drafts, Blackhawks rookie Bedard and Spurs rookie Wembanyama had a chance for a legendary meet-up with San Antonio in Chicago to face the Bulls Thursday night.
The NHL shared images of the first-year stars chatting and even getting in a few shots on the ice at the Blackhawks facility.
The most attention-grabbing photo, however, was the pair’s jersey swap, which, again, displayed just how much the 19-year-old Wemby’s 7-foot-4 frame dwarfs most people—with the 5-foot-10, 18-year-old Bedard now on said list.
Fans of both basketball and hockey were in awe of the photo.
As one of the tallest players in the NBA, Wembanyama has already made plenty of headlines over his jaw-dropping height when compared to his counterparts.
Now, the Spurs big man will have another classic viral “How tall is he?” photo to his name, thanks to Bedard and the iconic meeting between the rookie phenoms.
