Fantasy football Player Projections -- Breaking down Week 10

Photo: Simon Bruty/SI

Owners should anticipate a big game from Matthew Stafford, as he faces the weak Bears pass defense.

Last week, Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger threw for 832 yards and eight touchdowns going up against each other. We could see those numbers challenged in two separate games this week.

First, the Lions and Bears match up in a huge battle in the NFC North. The Bears' struggles against the pass have been well-documented, and Jay Cutler is expected to return from a groin injury. He and Matthew Stafford could put up gaudy numbers.

In the nightcap on Sunday, Drew Brees and the Saints face off with Tony Romo and a Dallas defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Expect a fireworks show in the Big Easy.

What other excitement can we expect this weekend? Find out in our Week 10 Projections.

    4. PASS YDS392
    5. PASS TD3
    6. INT0
    7. RUSH YDS0

The bye seemed to come at a perfect time for Manning. Now he gets a defense allowing a league-worst 8.5 yards per attempt this season.

    2. Drew Brees
    3. Drew

    4. PASS YDS341
    5. PASS TD4
    6. INT1
    7. RUSH YDS0
    8. RUSH TD0

The Cowboys allow the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, so it could be quite the day for Brees.

    4. PASS YDS324

    6. INT0
    7. RUSH YDS0
    8. RUSH TD0

Dalton's streak of huge games ended last week, though he did still manage 338 yards. The Ravens have buckled down since getting torched by Peyton Manning Week 1, but Dalton is still a low-end QB1.

      Peterson
      RB
    4. RUSH YDS124
    5. RUSH TD2
    6. REC YDS27

      Johnson
      RB
    4. RUSH YDS113
    5. RUSH TD1
    6. REC YDS33
    7. REC TD1

Johnson finally had a big day, running for 150 yards and two scores against the Rams. He should be able to keep it going against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to running backs.

    1. 3
    2. Reggie Bush
    3. Reggie
      Bush
      RB
    4. RUSH YDS86

    2. Calvin Johnson
    3. Calvin
      Johnson
      WR
    4. REC YDS122
    5. REC TD2

The Bears have generally done as good a job as anyone at keeping Johnson in check, but he's in line for a big game Sunday.

    1. 2
    2. T.Y. Hilton
    3. T.Y.
      Hilton
      WR
    4. REC YDS113
    5. REC TD2

Hilton was a monster in the Colts' first game without Reggie Wayne, catching seven passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns. He's a WR1 the rest of the way.

    1. 3
    2. DeSean Jackson
    3. DeSean
      Jackson
      WR
    4. REC YDS125
    5. REC TD1

Jackson had five catches for 150 yards and a TD last week and should be started confidently against Green Bay.

Tight Ends

    1. 1
    2. Jimmy Graham
    3. Jimmy
      Graham
      TE
    4. REC YDS123
    5. REC TD2

Graham was back to his normal self last week, moving nicely and catching nine passes for 116 yards and two scores. You know what to do.

    1. 2
    2. Jordan Reed
    3. Jordan
      Reed
      TE
    4. REC YDS93
    5. REC TD1

Reed had his first lackluster game since being inserted in the starting lineup, but don't hold that against him for too long. The Vikings allow the third-most fantasy points per game to tight ends.

    1. 3
    2. Jason Witten
    3. Jason
      Witten
      TE
    4. REC YDS82
    5. REC TD1

Witten had eight catches for 102 yards and a touchdown last week, but the Saints allow the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends.

Defenses

    1. 1
    2. Seattle Seahawks
    3. PTS ALLOWED16
    4. SACKS4
    5. INT3
    6. TD0

Matt Ryan has thrown seven picks in the last two weeks. He'd probably rather not see the Seahawks across the field while riding that wave.

    1. 2
    2. Tennessee Titans
    3. PTS ALLOWED13
    4. SACKS4
    5. INT2
    6. TD0

The Titans played well in a favorable matchup last week, forcing two turnovers and sacking Kellen Clemens twice. This week's matchup is even better.

    1. 3
    2. Houston Texans
    3. PTS ALLOWED17
    4. SACKS4
    5. INT2
    6. TD0

The Texans should be able to get after Carson Palmer this week, though this is not the overall defense it was each of the previous two seasons.
