Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul, Minn.) senior wide receiver Michael Floyd pledged to Notre Dame last weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder chose Notre Dame over Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, Florida and Wisconsin.

Floyd is a difficult matchup for any defensive back because he of his unique combination of size, strength and speed. As a junior, he was named Gatorade State Player of the Year after catching 63 passes for 1,240 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushing for 246 yards and three scores.

In just eight games this year, Floyd has caught 35 passes for 717 yards and 11 touchdowns, ran for 274 yards and two scores, returned three punts for touchdowns and tossed a touchdown pass.
