Florida lands Beal

Liberty (Bethlehem, Pa.) senior linebacker Brendan Beal committed to Florida on Thursday night over USC, Boston College and LSU. The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder is rated the nation's No. 54 overall football recruit in the Class of 2008 by RISE.

Beal transferred to Liberty from Roxbury (Succasunna, N.J.) this past June after tallying a combined 273 tackles and 17 sacks his sophomore and junior seasons. He has 81 tackles through eight games this year with Liberty.
