NEW YORK (AP) Santa Elf rallied from last to beat Celebrated Talent by 2 1/4 lengths Thursday in the $77,000 allowance feature at Belmont Park.

The race originally scheduled for seven furlongs on the turf was run at the same distance on the sloppy main track. The surface switch benefited Santa Elf, now 2 for 2 on wet tracks.

Sixth in the early stages, Santa Elf advanced with a four-wide bid on the turn and put away the pacesetting Celebrated Talent in deep stretch. The 4-year-old gelding paid $10, $4.50 and $2.40 with Joel Rosario aboard for trainer Bruce Brown. The time was 1:24.03.

Celebrated Talent returned $4 and $3.10, and Spartiatis paid $4 to show.
