Bryce Harper criticized Washington Nationals fans for leaving a game early after the team's 8–5 loss to the New York Mets on Monday, according to Nationals beat writer Chris Johnson.

When asked about the atmosphere of the fans at Nationals Park in the first game of a key three-game series, Harper responded, “I mean, they left in the seventh. That's pretty brutal.”

New York snapped Washington's five-game winning streak Monday, as David Wright hit a go-ahead single in the seventh inning. Yoenis Cespedes homered and doubled twice for the Mets.
