Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez plans to start Saturday against the Washington Nationals, Fernandez told reporters Monday.

Fernandez threw 75 pitches in a simulated game Monday morning at Marlins Park. He went on the disabled list in early August with a right biceps strain.

“I should be pitching Saturday against Washington. I don't know how many pitches or what, but whatever it is, I'll be ready for it,” Fernandez said, according to MLB.com.

Fernandez missed most of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He returned in July, going 4–0 with a 2.30 ERA in seven starts before sustaining the biceps injury.

In his career at Marlins Park, Fernandez is 15–0 with a 1.14 ERA.
