Righthanded pitcher Alfredo Simon has agreed to a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Reds, the team announced on Thursday.

The financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Simon returns to the Reds after spending 2015 in Detroit. In one season with the Tigers, he posted a 5.05 ERA with a 13–12 record in 31 starts.

Simon, 34, had some of the best seasons of his career in Cincinnati. In two of three years with the Reds his ERA was under three, and he earned All Star honors in 2014 after converting back into a starter and pitching for a 3.44 ERA with a 15–10 record.
