Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Josh Ravin has been suspended 80 games for violating Major League Baseball’s performance enhancing drug policy, the team announced Monday.
Ravin, who was on the 60-day disabled list after sustaining a broken arm in a February car accident, tested positive for a banned peptide.
The 28-year-old played in nine games as a reliever for the Dodgers last season, his first in the majors. He went 2–1 with a 6.75 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings in 2015.
Ravin played the majority of his 10-season professional career in the minor league systems of the Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds.
