Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced Saturday.

Brantley has missed Cleveland’s last three games with inflammation in his right shoulder, which was surgically repaired in November. His stay on the DL is retroactive to May 10.

The Indians have recalled veteran utility player Michael Martinez from Triple-A Columbus to replace Brantley on the active roster.

Brantley has played in 11 games this season, hitting .231 with seven RBIs.

Cleveland is hoping he can get back to the form of his 2014 season, when he was named to his first All-Star game and finished third in the MVP voting.
