Weekend Primer

University of Vermont Plant Sale, 10 a.m.

We apologize for being skeptical, but when we see that UVM is having a plant sale, are we the only ones wondering exaclty what kind of plants they are selling?

In Theaters: College Road Trip

Where does Martin Lawrence find the time to make so many movies? This weekhe stars as a father taking his high school daughter (played by former Cosby kid Raven-Symone) on a trip to visit colleges. Hilarity ensues as viewers learn Lawrence's parenting skills pale in comparison to those of Bill Cosby.

2008 Campus Rail Jam, Boise State, 1 p.m.

Anytime five truckloads of snow are brought to campus it's worthy of a mention in the Weekend Primer. It should be noted that along with the snow comes a horde of professional and amateur snowboarders eager to show off their gravity defying tricks. If Rail Jam doesn't give Boise State students their fill of the outdoors, afterwards they can watch adventure sports on the big screen at the Sawtooth Mountain Film Festival.

Harlem Globetrotters "Magic As Ever!" Tour, Temple University, 1 p.m.

How often to do you get to see a team with over 20,000 wins? Now in their 83rd year on tour, the Globetrotters are bringing their disregard for fundamentals to Temple's Liacouras Center. The performance will be so good you'll forget the name makes it sound like a Hannah Montana tour.

NCAA Skiing Championships, University of Montana

After two days of skiing, Denver, Utah, Colorado and defending champion Dartmouth are among the schools in the running for the team title. Saturday's men and women's slalom runs will decide who finishes on top.

Men's Basketball, North Carolina at Duke, 9 p.m.

Last month Coach K riled up Roy Williams by saying he thinks UNC's players are a bunch of little girls. Williams responded by reminding Coach K that the rest of America thinks Duke players are a bunch of little girls. The winner of Saturday's game will decide who gets another prestigious "ACC Regular Season Champion" banner.

MTVU Spring Break at Panama City Beach, Florida

Sunday marks the start of two full weeks of drinking, partying, and a 2.4% increase in MTV's ratings. According to the MTVU Spring Break website, "What happens there, stays here." I'm not sure what the "there" and "here" are referring to---maybe it's some kind of typo. Either way, the person in charge of copying Las Vegas' slogan didn't do a very good job.
