Mo'ne Davis, Philadelphia eliminated from Little League World Series
Pitching sensation Mo'ne Davis and the Philadelphia Taney Dragons were eliminated from the Little League World Series after losing 6-5 to Chicago's Jackie Robinson West squad Thursday night.
Chicago's Joshua Houston had a two-run single, and reliever Cameron Bufford closed the door on Philadelphia by pitching a scoreless sixth inning after the tying run made it to third base.

Chicago moves on to play Las Vegas in the U.S. title game on Saturday, a rematch of a 13-2, four-inning rout by Vegas last Sunday.

Davis, who was the first girl to throw a shutout in World Series history, played first base the first two innings against Chicago and re-entered the game at third base in the fifth after being taken out. The loss ends a historic World Series for Davis, as she became the first little leaguer to grace the national cover of Sports Illustrated.
Due to pitch count limits, Davis was not allowed to pitch against Chicago after throwing 55 pitches in an 8-1 loss to Las Vegas on Wednesday. She flew out in her only plate appearance on Thursday.
Philadelphia trailed 6-2 after the second inning, but got back into the game with a two-run single by Zion Spearman in the fourth inning and a solo blast by Kai Cummings in the fifth inning.
