Zane Smith’s NASCAR Truck Bursts Into Flames After Celebratory Burnout

NASCAR truck driver Zane Smith set victory lane on fire, literally.

Following his victory on Saturday in the NASCAR Truck Series race at the Circuit of the Americas, Smith simply celebrated the way most drivers do—by doing a burnout. Unfortunately for Smith and his team, the celebration resulted in his truck catching fire.

“Besides catching on fire in victory, that was a first for me,” Smith told Fox Sports after the race. “Man, that's a bummer right there… That's easily the most hectic victory lane celebration I have ever had and I apologize for catching the truck on fire in victory lane.”

Thankfully, rescue and safety crews arrived quickly and extinguished the fire before they engulfed the Front Row Motorsports vehicle. Still, the truck had to be towed off the track due to the significant damage from the fire.

It's safe to assume that Smith, who has nine NASCAR wins in his career, will never forget this trip to victory lane.
