Ryan Preece Released From Hospital After Frightening Wreck at Daytona

NASCAR driver Ryan Preece was released from Halifax Health Medical Center, it was announced by Stewart-Haas Racing on Sunday.

Preece was held overnight by doctors for observation at the Florida hospital after being involved in a scary crash in Saturday night’s NASCAR Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

With just five laps to go in the race, Preece lost control of his No. 41 car which resulted in being sent high in the air and flipping a wild amount of times on the infield. The Ford car, which finally came to a stop upside down, left racing fans fearing for the health of the 32-year-old driver.

After miraculously coming away uninjured, the promising young driver took to social media to let fans know that, despite the frightening wreck, he will be back behind the wheel very soon.

"If you want to be a race car driver, you better be tough. Dammit. Fast @racechoice @FordPerformance Mustang. I’m coming back,” posted Preece.

NASCAR is an exhilarating sport, but wrecks like the one witnessed on Saturday evening, remind racing fans the dangers drivers perilously face in every race.
