The Los Angeles Clippers hired Lawrence Frank as an assistant coach after he reached a buyout agreement with the Brooklyn Nets, SI's Chris Mannix reports.

Frank was demoted by ex-Nets coach Jason Kidd in the middle of last season, after being made one the highest paid assistants in league history. Kidd is now the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Frank, 44, was also an assistant under Clippers head coach Doc Rivers when he was in Boston. Frank has a 279-335 record as a head coach with Nets and Detroit Pistons
