Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said Friday that the team expects to win a championship.
The Lakers finished last season with the second-worst record (27-55) in the Western Conference.
This offseason, the Lakers added power forwards Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis and guards Wayne Ellington and Ronnie Price. The team also re-signed guards Xavier Henry and Nick Young and forwards Wesley Johnson, Jordan Hill and Ryan Kelly.
The Lakers also drafted former Kentucky power forward Julius Randle with the No. 7 pick in the draft.
Kupchak also said that star shooting guard Kobe Bryant, who missed all but six games last season due to injuries, has lost 10-12 pounds. Bryant is ranked No. 24 on SI.com's list of the top 100 players for 2014-15.
