Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant participated in shootaround Friday morning and said he expects to play Friday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, according to TheOklahoman's Anthony Slater

Durant originally injured his toe in the fourth quarter of the Thunder's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 25. He missed games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks last week before playing against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, but struggled in his return, scoring 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting. Durant then sat out of both Monday and Wednesday games this week.

According to Slater, Durant said he may have tried to push it too soon in the game against Memphis, but believes this time he'll be back from the sprain for good.

The reigning NBA MVP is averaging 25.1 points per game with 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 22 games this season.

The Thunder (25-24) host the Pelicans on Friday.
