The Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets will begin their first-round matchup in the Eastern Conference playoffs Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET on TNT.

The Hawks secured the East's No. 1 seed after winning 60 games, a 22-game improvement from last season. The Nets grabbed the conference's No. 8 seed after winning 38 games, a six-game drop-off from last season.

The Hawks won all four games in the regular-season series against the Nets, most recently defeating Brooklyn in Atlanta 114–111 on the road on April 8.

The Hawks have three players averaging at least 15 points per game: Paul Millsap leads the team with 16.7, while Jeff Teague averaged 15.9 and Al Horford averaged 15.2. Millsap also leads the Hawks with 7.8 rebounds per game.

The Nets are led by center Brook Lopez, who averages team-highs with 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Joe Johnson averaged 14.4 points and 3.7 assists per game, while Thaddeus Young—who was traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the February Kevin Garnett trade—has averaged 13.8 points and 5.9 rebounds over 28 games with the Nets.
