Joakim Noah out for season after surgery, hopes to return to Bulls
Tuesday January 26th, 2016

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah expects to miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury but hopes to return to the Bulls next season, he told reporters on Tuesday.

“It's getting better every day,” Noah said in his first comments since undergoing surgery. “It's tough to be out here watching everyone compete when you want to be out there.

“Right now I've got to take it week by week and focus on my progress but this is all I know,” Noah added. “The guys are going to be gone for a couple weeks. [I'll] work on getting my should stronger and when I can, I'll be there.”

NBA Power Rankings: Cavs’ internal turmoil throws East into disarray

Noah injured the shoulder earlier this month in pursuit of a rebound after getting tangled with Dallas Mavericks center JaVale McGee. It was just his fourth game back after missing two weeks with a sprained left shoulder.

The Bulls are 25–19 and sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are seventh in SI's latest power rankings.

Noah will be a free agent after this season and has expressed interest in returning to Chicago next year.
