Dan Marino withdrawing from concussion lawsuit against NFL

Not even a day after it was revealed that former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino was part of a concussion lawsuit filed by 13 other former NFL players, he has decided to withdraw his name.

As to the reason? Well, according to the Sun-Sentenel, the whole thing was simply a big misunderstanding and his lawyers are working to remove his name from the suit.

“It was never Marino’s intention to initiate litigation in this case, but to ensure that in the event he had adverse health consequences down the road, he would be covered with health benefits. They are working to correct the error,” a source said to the Sun-Sentinel.

Marino, of course, caught significant flack from media and fans alike when news broke of the lawsuit as it was Marino who stated just a few seasons ago that NFL players were aware of the risks that come from playing professional football.

On the flip side, Marino has been rather sympathetic towards players who are dealing with some of the concussion-related health issues stemming from injuries suffered during their playing days, so he's shown a bit of affliction to both sides of the argument.

Regardless of those split feelings, it appears as if Marino will not be moving forward with legal action against the league.
