Free-agent wide receiver Santonio Holmes is receiving interest from the Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns, reports NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
Both teams have needs to fill in their receiving corps. The Browns are waiting on the NFL to rule on All-Pro Josh Gordon, who faces a year-long suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse program. Marquess Wilson, the Bears' No. 3 receiver, is out indefinitely after breaking his clavicle in practice.
Holmes, 30, was released by the New York Jets in March after four seasons with the team. He had 23 catches for 456 yards and one touchdown last season and has 36 touchdowns in eight NFL seasons.
