Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall and free agent safety Ed Reed are joining Showtime's Inside the NFL, the network announced Thursday in a press release.

According to Showtime, Marshall will become the first active NFL player to appear regularly as an analyst on the show, which has been airing since 1977.

“With Ed just coming off the playing field and Brandon still on it, this show truly brings a unique perspective that is unseen on any other show," said Sean McManus, Chairman of CBS Sports.

Inside the NFL will also be moving to Tuesday nights.

Marshall and Reed will serve on the on-air crew and will be paired with host Greg Gumbel and analysts Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms.

Reed said in June that he is not retiring from the game and feels he can still play.

The first episode of this season airs on Sept. 2.
