Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin left practice Wednesday with a groin injury, according to a report from Mike Rodak of ESPN.com.

The status of McKelvin, who has yet to play this preseason, for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay is unknown.

"I have no idea. They haven't told me that yet," coach Doug Marrone said.

McKelvin, 28, had been limited in spring workouts and training camp after undergoing surgery on his hip in the offseason.

McKelvin is listed as a starter at cornerback and punt returner on Buffalo's preseason depth chart.

The 2008 first-round pick recorded 60 tackles, 20 passes defended and one interception in 15 games last season.
