On Thursday's episode of SI Now, former NFL defensive end Michael Strahan said that right now "it seems like there is no future in football" for Ray Rice.

Strahan also said that if he were still playing it'd be hard for him to accept his team signing Ray Rice, and that the team would have to be sure he's fully rehabilitated before doing so.

ROSENBERG: Roger Goodell and his arrogant act must go

Rice was suspended indefinitely by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and released by the Baltimore Ravens on Monday in the wake of new video footagethat shows Rice punching then-fiancée, now wife, Janay Palmer in an Atlantic City casino elevator. The parameters for Rice's potential future reinstatement are unclear.

Goodell is currently facing intense criticism over his handling of the Rice case. It was reported Wednesday that the NFL received, and confirmed receiving, the video of Rice punching Palmer. This report contradicted the NFL's story, which was that it had never received or seen the video.

Ex-FBI director Robert Mueller III will reportedly lead an investigation into the NFL's handling of Rice.
