The Daily Show host Jon Stewart ripped the National Football League on his Wednesday show for its lack of discipline among its players amid scandals involving child abuse and domestic violence.

Stewart spent the better part of five minutes on his show criticizing the NFL, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy.

Peterson faces up to two years in prison after being indicted last week in Texas on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child after authorities said he hit his 4-year-old son with a switch. He is due in court on Oct. 8 for an arraignment.

NFL players' recent cases of violence against women

Hardy was found guilty of assaulting and threatening an ex-girlfriend, but he is appealing the conviction and is due in court Nov. 17. Peterson and Hardy were placed on the NFL’s commissioner exempt list until their court cases are resolved.

“It’s the kind of firm decision making we have come to expect from people who don’t know what the f—-k they are doing,” Stewart said.
