Titans QB Zach Mettenberger sprains shoulder, expects to play next week

Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger left Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with a grade 1 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.

Mettenberger told reporters after the game that he expects to play next week against the New York Giants.

The injury occurred in the third quarter on a hit by Texans defensive end J.J. Watt. Houston was winning 24-7.

Actives/Inactives: Foster, Reed suiting up; David out

Jake Locker replaced Mettenberger and threw an interception on his first pass attempt. 

Mettenberger threw for 184 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 13-of-19 passing before leaving the game. The rookie was making his fifth start of the season.

Through five games heading into Sunday, Mettenberger has thrown for 1,103 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions.
