The New York Jets are finalizing a four-year contract with free-agent safety Marcus Gilchrist, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

According to Rapoport, Gilchrist will sign the deal on Friday.

Gilchrist has spent the last four years with the San Diego Chargers after being drafted by them in the second round in 2011. The 26-year-old has started every game the last two seasons.

In 2014, Gilchrist registered 76 tackles, two forced fumbles and an interception.

On Thursday, free-agent cornerback Antonio Cromartie agreed to a four-year deal with the Jets, and on Tuesday free-agent cornerback Darrelle Revis agreed to a five-year deal.
