Former NFL wide receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested in Scottsdale, Ariz., early on the morning of May 4 on DUI charges, local authorities confirmed Tuesday to SI.com.
Edwards was arrested at 3:10 a.m. local time and charged with four separate DUI statutes in Arizona, authorities said. His blood alcohol test results have not been processed yet. Edwards was "cordial and cooperative," authorities said.
Edwards' Instagram account indicated he was in Arizona to cover a track meet for the Pac-12 network, The Detroit Free Press reported.
It is unlawful for a person to operate a vehicle in Arizona with a blood alcohol content level of .08 or more.
Edwards was a collegiate standout at the University of Michigan, amassing 3,541 receiving yards and 39 touchdowns over four seasons with the program. He was drafted third overall in the 2005 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns.
