New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Monday that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. did not participate in team drills because of a sore hamstring, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Coughlin added that this hamstring problem is different than the one Beckham battled last year.

Beckham was named the Associated Press offensive rookie of the year for 2014 in January.

The 22-year-old caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns despite missing the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury.

Beckham later said he played the season with hamstring tears.

His most memorable moment of the season came in a Nov. 23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, when he completed a one-handed touchdown catch.
