Civil suit against Washington Redskins LB Junior Galette dismissed
The civil suit against Washington Redskins linebacker Junior Galette has been dismissed, according to a statement from Galette's attorney.
The suit was dismissed after Galette's accuser failed to hire a new lawyer or appear in court, reports ESPN's Mike Triplett.
Galette was sued in February by a woman who accused the linebacker of physical and mental abuse. The same woman was at the center of a misdemeanor battery charge against Galette, but those charges were dropped the day the lawsuit was filed.
Galette signed a four-year, $41.5 million contract extension with the New Orleans Saints last September, but the team released him in July, a little over month after the resurfacing of a video that appeared to show Galette striking multiple people.

Galette's lawyer denied it was his client in the video.
The 27-year-old Galette signed a one-year, veteran's minimum deal with Washington in July. He recorded 10 sacks and three forced fumbles last season.
