Dolphins safety Louis Delmas was carted off the field after sustaining an apparent right knee injury, reports Max Henson of Panthers.com.

Delmas's injury was the second injury within an hour at the Dolphins' joint practice with the Panthers. Carolina wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin was also carted off the field with what appeared to be an injury to his left knee.

After five seasons with the Lions, Delmas was cut after the 2013 season because he had struggled to stay healthy during his tenure in Detroit.

Delmas, 28, played in 13 games and started 12 for Miami last season, making 49 tackles and one interception, before tearing his right ACL.
