Bill Kuharich will oversee the Cleveland Browns' personnel department as general manager Ray Farmer’s begins a 30-day suspension on Monday, the team announced on Friday.

Farmer is serving a suspension without pay for four games after he illegally texted coaches during games last season.

In February, Farmer apologized for for texting coaches about play-calling during games last season, which is a violation of league rules. He admitted he made a mistake in a statement released in March.

Kuharich was hired by the Browns in Feb. 2014 and has served as the team's executive chief of staff since last May, following Farmer's promotion to general manager.

The Browns finished 7–9 last season and open the year against the Jets on Sept. 13 at MetLife Stadium.
