Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was pulled out of practice due to tightness in his hamstring, head coach Rex Ryan told reporters Thursday.

McCoy sustained a hamstring injury during training camp, but was active for Week 1, despite not feeling 100 percent recovered.

When asked if he thinks the star running back will play in Sunday's game against the the New England Patriots, Ryan said “I certainly hope so.”

If McCoy is out against the Patriots due to the injury, rookie Karlos Williams will have to step up, though Ryan is not ready to consider the possibility of McCoy not being ready to play on Sunday.

Williams led the team with 55 rushing yards in the Bills’ season opening win against the Colts.
