EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The New York Giants were without defensive end Robert Ayers Jr. and offensive tackle Ereck Flowers on Thursday night against the Washington Redskins.

George Selvie will replace Ayers (hamstring), while the Giants will shuffle their line a bit to replace Flowers (ankle), their first-round draft pick. Justin Pugh will move from left guard to tackle and John Jerry will start at guard. Jayron Hosley is starting for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (concussion). He was ruled out Wednesday.

Jon Beason (knee) was active for the first time this season and listed to start at middle linebacker.

The Redskins will start Will Compton at linebacker for Perry Riley Jr. (calf), who is out. Ryan Grant will start for DeSean Jackson (hamstring), who is missing his second straight game.

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was inactive for the third straight game.
