Timeline for Broncos QB Peyton Manning’s return in question
The Denver Broncos and veteran quarterback Peyton Manning still do not have a definitive timeline for when the 39-year-old will return from a partially torn left plantar fascia that he aggravated against the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 8, reports Nicki Jhabvala of TheDenver Post.
Manning met with Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina last week and was recommended to wear a cast on his foot for a week.
According to Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, the team will be able to get an idea about when Manning can attempt a return after the cast comes off and he can start rehab.
"The biggest question this week is really going to be about when the cast comes off — does it come off early this week or does it come off at the end of the week?" Kubiak said to the Post. "The progress has been good. The next step, when he comes out of it, is to get back into the rehab process into the field. We'll just take it a day at a time right now."
However, Chris Mortenson of ESPN reports that Manning is not expected to be ready “anytime soon.”

Manning struggled through nine starts this season before suffering the injury, completing 59.9 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
There are questions if the future Hall of Famer will even win his starting job back after the success of former second-round pick Brock Osweiler in Manning’s absence. The Broncos are 2–0 under Osweiler, who is 57 for 93 passing with four touchdowns and two interceptions this season.
