When the Vikings and Seahawks kicked off to begin Sunday’s playoff game in Minnesota, the temperature was six degrees below zero, making it the third-coldest game in NFL history.

The wind chill was 20-below, five degrees colder than a 1995 playoff game between the Colts and Chiefs in Kansas City, which also had a kickoff temperature of six-below.

The second-coldest game in league history was the 1981 AFC championship game between the Bengals and Chargers at nine-below. The 1967 NFL championship game, also known as the Ice Bowl, is the coldest game in the history of the NFL. The temperature in Green Bay when the Packers and Cowboys kicked off was 13-below.
