Alex Smith miraculously evaded the Patriots’ pass rush before finding Jason Avant.

Alex Smith is doing all he can to keep the Chiefs in the game against the Patriots.

With Kansas City trailing 21–6 in the third quarter, Smith showed off his athleticism by miraculously evading the Patriots pass rush before finding Jason Avant for a big gain. Smith avoided sacks and bumped into his own offensive lineman before floating a pass to Avant.

The Chiefs picked up a much-needed first down on the play, and would score a touchdown on the drive.
