Defensive back Jalen Ramsey said the Tennessee Titans should select him No. 1 overall because he’s the best player in the NFL draft, according to ESPN’s Mike DiRocco.
“It’s what I’ve always dreamed of,” said Ramsey, a Tennessee native. “It’s what I’ve worked for, and I want them to pick me because they know I’m the best player in this year’s draft [and] not because I’m a guy from Tennessee. That’s just icing on the cake.”
In three seasons at Florida State, Ramsey recorded 181 combined tackles, 22 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three interceptions and five sacks.
“I want them to really feel like I’m the best player in this draft,” Ramsey added. “I definitely feel like I am and I feel like I continue to show it throughout my combine, throughout my pro day, and whatever else they want me to show or need me to show, I’ll continue to show it.”
Ramsey was a consensus first-team All-America selection in 2015.
