Ravens’ Keenan Reynolds granted approval to defer military service

U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter says that Keenan Reynolds may defer his miliary service and play for the Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore selected Reynolds in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL draft.
“It is a blessing to hear the news from Defense Secretary Carter today," Reynolds said in a statement. “I am truly excited to proudly serve my country while having the ability fulfill my dream of playing for the best organization in the NFL...I would like to thank the Navy for allowing me to represent them while taking advantage of this unique opportunity.”
In his four seasons with Navy, he set the NCAA record for touchdowns at 119 (31 throwing, 88 rushing).

Navy will also allow Chargers undrafted rookie Chris Swain to defer his miliary service.
