Texans waive OL David Quessenberry with non-football injury designation

The Houston Texans have waived offensive lineman David Quessenberry with the non-football injury designation, reports NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Quessenberry, who has never actually played in a regular-season NFL game, was diagnosed with lymphoma in June 2014 after he experienced trouble breathing at minicamp. His cancer went into remission in 2015.
If he clears waivers, Quessenberry will revert to Houston’s non-football injury list or could reach an injury settlement with the Texans, which would make him a free agent.
According to ESPN’s Tania Ganguli, the Texans are interested in having the 25 year old return to the organization in “some capacity” away from the field.

Quessenberry was selected by Houston in the sixth round of the 2013 draft out of San Jose State.
