Veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin is nearing a deal with the Detroit Lions, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The receiver confirmed he would be joining the team on Twitter.

Boldin, 35, will sign a one-year deal. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Boldin had interest from the Eagles and Saints.

In 13 NFL seasons with the Cardinals, Ravens and 49ers, Boldin has caught 1,009 passes for 74 touchdowns and 13,195 yards. He has never caught fewer than 56 passes in a season and has missed more than four games just once.

Last season with San Francisco, Boldin caught 69 passes for 789 yards with four touchdowns in 14 games.

The addition of Boldin should help mitigate the loss of Calvin Johnson, who retired this off-season. Golden Tate and Marvin Jones are Detroit’s other top receivers.
