Broncos to Sign Star Ex-Chiefs Defensive End Frank Clark, per Report
The Broncos are reportedly signing former Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark to a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jordan Schultz of The Score was the first to report the news of Denver landing the two-time Super Bowl champion. Clark’s deal will also include a $5.5 million guaranteed base salary, $1 million in “makeable incentives” along with an additional $1 million in more challenging incentives, per Schefter.
Clark remains in the AFC West, joining Denver after four seasons with the Chiefs, a stint that ended when Kansas City released him in March. Last season, Clark notched 35 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and registered one fumble recovery.
However, in the playoffs, Clark delivered 2.5 postseason sacks en route to the Chiefs victory in Super Bowl LVII victory. Clark also played an integral part in helping Kansas City win Super Bowl LIV at the end of the 2019 season.
Clark, who turns 30 on June 14, sits at 13.5 career sacks in the playoffs. Of those sacks, he registered 10.5 in 12 playoff games with Kansas City. The only two players in NFL history with more career postseason sacks than Clark are Willie McGinest (16) and Bruce Smith (14.5).
