Raiders Share Statement on Arrest of Chandler Jones in Las Vegas

Following the news of that Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones was arrested in Las Vegas on a domestic violence charge, the club issued a statement early Friday.

"The Raiders are hopeful that Chandler Jones receives the care that he needs. He, his family, and all those involved are in our thoughts. As this is now a legal matter, we will not be providing further comment,” the statement reads.

The four-time Pro Bowler, who has been dealing with what the team has called a “personal issue,” has not been part of team activities since the start of the season. Jone, who was placed him on the non-football illness list on Sept. 20, has posted a series of disturbing social media messages and videos over the last month leading to concerns about his mental state and well-being.

The 33-year-old veteran is still currently being held at Clark County Detention Center, according to the Clark County Detention website.

On the field, the Raiders look to snap a two-game losing streak when they head on the road to take on the Chargers at SoFi stadium in Week 4.
