DeAndre Hopkins Endorses Tyreek Hill For NFL MVP

Five-time Pro Bowl wideout DeAndre Hopkins endorsed Miami’s star wide receiver Tyreek Hill for NFL MVP honors.

On Tuesday, Hopkins, who was instrumental in the Texans upset win over the Dolphins on Monday night, wrote on social media that Hill should be recognized for his incredible production this season.

“…@cheetah for MVP, Give praise when it’s due,” posted Hopkins.

Hill, who has racked up 1,542 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns, is on pace to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season record of 1,964 yards receiving yards, and could become the first wide receiver to ever surpass the 2,000-yard plateau.

Despite the praise from his peers, the former Super Bowl champion is not garnering the same respect from oddsmakers. As usual the distinguished award, which is dominated by quarterbacks, finds four elite sign-callers listed ahead of Hill. Currently, consensus betting odds have Dak Prescott (+150) and Brock Purdy (+185) sitting atop the board, with Lamar Jackson (+475) and Jalen Hurts (+675) coming next above the speedy wideout. Hill has the fifth-best MVP odds at +1600.

In the highly popular futures betting market, it should be noted that Hill has moved ahead of two-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes (+1700).

Regardless of the endorsement from fellow star players, the electrifying talent faces a tough road as quarterbacks have won the MVP award for 10 consecutive years. The last non-quarterback to take home the hardware was Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson back in 2012.
