The Senators and David Legwand hava reached an agreement on a contract that will pay him $6 million over two seasons, according TSN analyst Aaron Ward.

Legwand, who was considered one of the top free agents on the market, scored 14 goals with 37 assists n 83 games with the Predators and Red Wings last season. He could be an effective replacement at center for Jason Spezza, who was dealt to Dallas earlier this week. Legwand, 33, ranks first on the Predators' all-time scoring list with 210 goals. He has played in 977 games over 15 seasons.
