Senators sign Clarke MacArthur to five-year contract extension
The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Clarke MacArthur to a five-year contract extension worth $23.5 million, general manager Bryan Murray announced Tuesday.
MacArthur, 29, set career highs with 24 goals and 78 penalty minutes and recorded 31 assists in 79 games in 2013-14, his first season with the Senators. The 2003 third-round pick has also had stints with Buffalo, Atlanta and Toronto.

MacArthur has registered 117 goals, 151 assists and 307 penalty minutes in 482 regular season games over nine seasons.
The Senators went 37-31-14 and missed the playoffs last season.
