Evander Kane returns to Jets lineup, warns teammate

Winnipeg Jets winger Evander Kane took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to announce his return to the lineup for tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils and to issue a warning to teammate Mark Scheifele.

Winnipeg Jets winger Evander Kane took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to announce his return to the lineup for tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils ... and to issue a warning to teammate Mark Scheifele:

Bruins' depth tested by gruesome injury to Torey Krug

"Let's stay 10 feet away from each other for the first 5 minutes. Thanks."

The 23-year-old Kane suffered a knee injury just minutes into Winnipeg's season opener after a blindside collision with Scheifele along the blueline. He spent the next eight games on the shelf working the joint back into game-ready condition.

Despite a respectable (for them) 4-5 start, the Jets have missed Kane's scoring touch. Winnipeg has just 19 goals so far, fewest in the Western Conference. Kane accounted for 19 goals and 41 points in 63 games last season. He'll likely return to his spot on the top line and see time on the first power play unit ... assuming that Scheifele heeds the warning.
