Google chirps BizNasty with Times Square billboard

Google chirps Paul "BizNasty" Bissonnette with Times Square billboard.

As a marginal NHLer for six seasons, and as hockey's most visible face in social media, Paul Bissonnette has heard his share of chirps. But this was a little different from the barbs usually directed his way from the cheap seats.

SI's zaniest hockey moments of 2014

Bissonnette, who starred in an epic ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video last spring (click on the tile to watch), was recognized by Google as one of the most popular internet searches of 2014 with a massive billboard in New York's Times Square.

Pretty sweet. But the search engine giant couldn't resist taking a well-worn jab at Bissonnette's hockey prowess with the billboard's tagline: “We searched more for his epic Ice Bucket Challenge than his performances on ice.”

Ouch.

But the chirp was a secondary concern to BizNasty:

Hmmm ... must have been a reflection of poorly spelled searches.

Bissonnette, by the way, signed a PTO on Dec. 9 with the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL, so maybe this billboard won't be the last we see of him.
